Tips for Oily Skin
There is nothing worse than having that greasy shiny look to your face. Excess oil makes your skin look dirty and can cause your makeup to run or wear off. And there is little you can do about it personally, as it is in your body chemistry.
A few things to consider when managing your oily skin:
- Avoid makeup containing oils. There is no need to add more oil to your face. Moisturizers and lotions contain oils for the most part. Look for products that are oil-free.
- Choose makeup items that are designed for oily skin.
- Wash your face in the morning when you get up and at night before bed. Do not scrub too hard or over wash your face, as it may cause your skin to create even more oil to replace the oil you just washed off.
- Be sure to completely wash your makeup off each day, ideally before you wash your face for the night.
- Oily skin produces acne, so an acne cream may be applied a couple times a day to remedy the condition. Acne creams come in varying levels of strength, so the amount you use and the number of times a day you can apply it will vary.
- Avoid touching your face in the day, as your fingers will transmit the oil that is on them.
- Throughout the day, you may need to blot your face with blotting powder or oil absorbing papers.
