Grooming your eyebrows is like most things in life. You have to learn what works for you. To style your eyebrows you basically have three methods, tweezing, waxing, and threading.
The first thing you want to do is determine how to shape your eyebrows. To determine the starting point for each eyebrow, take a pencil and place it vertically against your nostril. The point at which the pencil touches your brow line should be your starting location. To determine where to end your eyebrow, place the pencil from your nostril to the corner of your eye. The position where the pencil meets the brow line is your end point. The point above the iris of your eye is where you would shape the curve to your eyebrows.
Once you have your points you can draw out the shape you want to make your eyebrows. It is better to have a general idea of the shape, rather than just starting to pluck hairs. To create the effect you will be plucking and trimming hairs from above and below your eyebrow as needed.
Waxing involves the application of heated wax to the portions of hair you want to remove. In an effort to remove multiple hairs at once, as opposed to tweezing hairs one by one. For this same reason waxing must be done carefully, apply it sparingly to the chosen areas as you do not want to remove too much hair. The best tip is to do a little bit at a time to check your gradual results. And you’re dealing with a boiling hot substance, so people suffer burns from this method.
Threading is an ancient hair removal practice. In this method one uses a length of cotton thread. The person doing the treatment holds one end of the thread in their mouth and the other end in their hand. They make the thread into a loop and hold and end in each hand.
With the twists in the thread made by the looping, the user grabs hair by tightening the twisted area, which in turn pulls out the hair at the root. This is becoming the preferred method over waxing, because it doesn’t have all of the drawbacks.
